    In the early 30-ies of the Polish Air Force experienced a period of reform and modernization. Requirements for new military aircraft were outlined in the specifications. One of the positions of the document dealt with "medium bomber, production program which was founded April 1, 1936.

    The machine exhibited at several airshows. The second modification of aircraft P-30BII with Bristol Pegasus engine VIIIS was presented at a military exhibition in Warsaw. Aircraft were interested Romanian Air Force have ordered 24 aircraft.

    In 1936 a contract to build 16 serial bomber has received firm LWS (Lubelska Wytwórnia Samolotów). In 1937, the aircraft began to come in under the designation of the LWS-16. Beginning with the second instance LWS-16 troop got the name Zubr.

    Military noted enviable reliability machine - before the war was lost in the crash of an aircraft, and then because of the notorious "human" factor. Bomber capabilities "bison" in the September war were not fully utilized. Much was destroyed during the raids on Polish airfields.

    Germans have got two very bad "Bison" on the airfield Malashevichi, one without the right engine - in Warsaw, five in various stages of assembly in Zaeizerzhu and one - on the airfield. The wreckage of aircraft were used as props during the filming of "Kampfgeschwader Lutzow" in 1940. However, several machines all still driven to flight status and in 1941 transferred to the various summer school. At least in 1942, one such aircraft was Blindflugschule Schleissheim.

    Four serviceable "Bison" fall into the hands of the Red Army and used as the connected aircraft for some time.
